When Your Horse Needs the Same Thing You Need...Someone to Depend On...

Ronnie Ford is no stranger to the horse world...the horses or the people in it.  Those who know him say you just can't put him in any known category of horseman.  He doesn't fool with the proclaimed "latest and greatest" trend in training horses.  If you ask him, he'll likely say, and very simply put, "What can those folks out there tell me about the horses I deal with?  The horses I deal with tell me everything I need to know about them and the folks who've handled them".

If asked about Pat Parelli, Clinton Anderson or some other popular horseman, he'll just shrug and say, "I don't know anything about those men and what they do with horses.   I think Clinton is probably a nice young man.  If you want to talk about Ray Hunt, now he's the greatest horseman this world has ever seen and I'm aware Ray had a few with which he shared his knowledge but I can't really say they got it all the way right.  I don't know that you can teach what Ray had...I think it's something the horse gives to you or he don't.  If he don't, then you're not gonna get the best of everything that horse has to offer...he's gonna keep part of himself...to himself."  If you ask Ronnie if he's got that thing Ray had, he falls a little humble and says "ain't no man can tell you if you got "it" or not....only the horse can tell you that.  And when he does, you know it."
